BIO
DELLA GRANT
Masterful Minds have come up with innovative
concepts that are having an impact on generations past, present and
future. Those of African descent have masterfully changed the tone
of music for decades. From native tribal music, to spirituals, to
blues to R&B. All of these musical elements have produced some
of the greatest talents the world has seen. It is rare that you find
a talent that embodies the evolution of music and speaks to the multitudes
of generations both past and present. Della Grant is one of those
innovators; her masterful mix of reggae, soul and gospel music has
marked her territory in the world of music.
A gifted singer from a family of talented musicians,
she has been singing since the age of six. Continuing a family legacy
of gifted musicians, her husband Ralston Grant along with his brother
Norman are the famed "Twinkle Brothers". Her acceptance
in the reggae community has been not only welcomed but also embraced.
Her poise as a singer, her grace as an artist and her talent as a
human being can be heard and seen through her music.
A seasoned veteran in the reggae community,
she has released seven albums to date, with her eighth, Precious
Memories, poised for release. Her original song "Black Rose"
garnered a spot on the Jamaican charts for weeks; her "Dawta
of the Dust" has done the same in Europe. These hits have enjoyed
critical acclaim in the United States, Canada, Jamaica and Europe.
She has gained both national and international recognition for her
music while touring with the "Twinkle Brothers". In fact,
you could say Europe is having a love affair with her.
Della has performed at such events as Reggae
Sunsplash and White River Reggae Bash in Jamaica; headlined the 10th
Annual Reggae Sunsplash in Grand Rapids, Michigan; Vancouver (B.C.)
Island Reggaefest, Reggae on the River, and numerous Bob Marley Day
celebrations. Della is well respected in the reggae community, having
performed with many of the world's most renowned artist such as Bunny
Wailer, Burning Spear, Israel Vibrations, Luciano, Morgan Heritage,
Aswad, Gregory Isaacs, Frankie Paul, Steel Pulse, Andrew Tosh, Maxi
Priest, Buju Banton, Judy Mowatt, Rita Marley, Jose Wales, Pato Banton,
Inner Circle, Sister Carol, Chante Moore and the list goes on.
Describing Della in one word would be "Anakeke"
which means in Swahili, "To see her is to know her, and to know
her is to love her". Della is a talent to be acknowledged, appreciated
and admired.
